Alderson Broaddus lands former Conference Carolinas champion as new coach

A coach with experience of winning conference championships will be the new head coach at Alderson Broaddus.

Alderson Broaddus announced Monday that it hired former Pfeiffer coach Greg Walker to be its new men’s volleyball head coach for the upcoming season.

Walker in his one season with Pfeiffer led the Falcons to a 17-win season and the 2013 Conference Carolinas championship — Pfeiffer’s second straight conference title.

Following the 2013 season, Walker opted to leave Pfeiffer to become an assistant coach with the Mississippi State women’s volleyball team. The coach also helped guide the Bulldogs to have two players earn two All-American honors.

Walker along with these coaching experiences served as an assistant coach at Juniata before arriving to Pfeiffer.

Alderson Broaddus, a private college located in Philippi, West Virginia, opted earlier this year to begin transitioning its men’s volleyball program to NCAA Division II. The team since forming in 2012 has competed as a club team.
