Loyola leads nation with 7 recruits making new Fab 50 list

The reigning NCAA champions have reloaded its roster for the future seasons.

Loyola led all schools with seven incoming high school recruits named to the recently released Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 recruits.

The Fab 50 is an annual list that ranks the nation’s top 50 boys’ volleyball high school seniors.

This is the most Fab 50 recruits the Ramblers have signed in a single-year during their program history. In addition, it is the first time in the rally scoring era that a non-West Coast team has solely led the nation with the most Fab 50 selections.

Loyola returns all but two starters from last season’s team that was ranked No. 1 throughout the majority of the season and won its first NCAA championship in program history.

BYU had the second most Fab 50 selections with five recruits. Among its top recruits included outside attacker Brenden Sander, who Volleyball Magazine ranked among the top five high school recruits in the nation.

UC Irvine and UCLA each had four players make the Fab 50 list.

UCLA also led all teams with two incoming recruits — opposites Christian Hessenauer and Jake Arnitz — being ranked among the nation’s top five recruits. In addition, Arnitz was named the nation’s top recruit and the Volleyball Magazine Boys’ High School Player of the Year.

Twenty college men’s volleyball team had at least one incoming recruit selected to the Fab 50 list. Among the notable schools on the list this year are Grand Canyon and Cal Baptist, which both landed their first Fab 50 recruits in their programs histories.
