No. 7 USC returning to its historic former homecourt of North Gym made quick work of Cal State Northridge and further solidified its playoff positioning.
Opposite Tanner Jansen had a match-high 13 kills on a .500 attack percentage as the Trojans swept the Matadors 25-20, 25-20, 25-20 on Friday in Los Angeles.
Along with Jansen, freshman outside attacker Lucas Yoder finished with 11 kills against Cal State Northridge. USC also out-hit Cal State Northridge .326 to .218, including hitting a match-high .538 attack percentage in the second game.
The Trojans forced out of their traditional homecourt of the Galen Center because of a scheduling conflict for the first time this season are now on a four-match winning streak dating back to 2012 when playing at North Gym. In addition, USC with this victory jumped into seventh place in the MPSF and can now be assured a spot in the MPSF Tournament if it wins three of its remaining four conference matches.
