Ten players have been selected as finalists for the Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Month.
The Player of the Month award recognizes the best individual performances from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the month and gives volleyball fans from around the world the chance to determine who was the best player.
Off the Block selected the finalists for the February award. The finalists are Stanford setter Evan Barry, UCLA outside attacker Jeremy Casebeer, USC outside attacker Tony Ciarelli, Penn State outside attacker Nick Goodell, Hawai’i outside attacker Steven Hunt, Princeton outside attacker Cody Kessel, BYU middle attacker Russell Lavaja, Lewis outside attacker Jay Petty, Ohio State outside attacker Shawn Sangrey and UC Irvine outside attacker Kevin Tillie.
At least one player from every conference with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament is required to be among the finalists.
Fans will determine the winner of the Player of the Month award through online voting on the Off the Block website. The online poll is now open and closes at 11:59 p.m. (EST) Wednesday.
This is the third award presented by Off the Block that allows the fans to determine the winner. More than 10,000 people voted in the 2011 Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Year. In addition, more than 800 people voted for the Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Month award for January.
